2010 Reunion

Date for 2010 Reunion is set
Fall of 2010

Where to go?.. just where to go?.. such pressure!
that is the next step in making a Reunion happen
Location Criteria:
1. The hotel can provide a Large (2500 sq feet)  Hospitably suite with BAR and FOOD
2 Near a Major airport
3 Central location in the US

I asked Jim Stanford to do a Trip Report on Washington DC as a possible location for a reunion, here is what he said

To Whom it may concern:
I regret to inform you that........

Seriously, Tree, forget about a reunion in or anywhere within 100 miles (minimum) of Washington DC.
We just got home about 4 hours ago and I am still amazed at what I found in Washington and Arlington.....
$9 hamburgers (after you explain what goes on a hamburger)
$3.50 for a soft drink. None of the hotels allow you to bring in your own food and drink.
Nobody ever heard of a menu item of less than $25 just about anywhere...
Gas prices at least 30-50 cents higher than anywhere else in the country....
Very rude people....even more rude drivers and the most outlandishly stupid traffic patterns of anywhere I've ever been in the world...Foreigners everywhere you look, and seems that most are oriental!

Otherwise I met some real good guys from the Cav and other units at the various memorials in DC...was greatly impressed with the changing of the guard and Arlington National Cemetery...The WWII and Korean memorials and naturally the VN memorials...
They had about 140 for the dinner on Wed night..real good since that was the first time they had attempted it.

I hope you can gather from my remarks that I, in no way, would recommend holding a Tall Comanche reunion up there. I just don't think it would go over well.
I really think the trip is something that could better be accomplished by the individual, rather than as a group.
Anyway, we really had an enjoyable trip overall. We were gone 10 days. (had almost 200 emails while I was gone) time to catch up now.
Stay in touch
Jim

Guys that attended 2 to 5 Reunions

Yellow pins= All 5 reunions

Green pins= 3 or more
Red pins= 2 + the FNG class in Memphis

Guys that came to One reunion and not returned  (new)
Green PUSH pins= one reunion not to return for a second

After studying the two pin maps above I was surprised. I have always thought that the reason so many guys came to the reunions were from the Midwest is because we held them in the Midwest. Outside of 4 or 5 guys from the Far West coast the location pattern is the same for guys attending many reunions as it is for guys attending one and not returning.
