Middle School Band is made up of students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  They meet two to three times a week during the flex period.  In Middle School Band, students will learn appropriate repertoire to continue to develop their skills on their instruments as well as their singing and audiating (which refers to how they think music.)  Students will be working on musicality, technique, rhythm, intonation, interpretation, improvisation, and sight reading as they perform in a group setting.  The band performs in the Christmas concert, Joy Night, and the Spring concert.  Students are also required to play in one of the Student Recitals that are held in the Spring.  Students may choose to participate in the winter (January) or Spring (May) solo festivals held by MCSMA and NYSSMA.
