This is the home of the Pythian Sisters of Westminster Charity #35. There aren't many of us, but we are trying to make a difference in our community through volunteering, fundraising and outreach.

They took the plunge!
Maryland Polar Bear Plunge Pythian Crew
Braving sub-zero temperatures, a select few Knights, Sisters and their family and friends took the plunge into the freezing Chesapeake Bay to raise money for Maryland Special Olympics. We are proud of you crazy kids!

Projects:
Adopt a Highway:
Route 31 - Medford Road to New Windsor city limits. Four times a year we schlep out to our site and clean 'er up.  OK, so we have only been out once, but we collected 11 bags of trash between 5 of us on our 2.2 mile stretch of road.  Tiring, but we all felt so good afterwards.  It also helped that a lone cyclist thanked us for doing the clean up as she rode by.

Trick-or-Treat challenge: 
To get us started on the holiday season, we distributed 500 'trick-or-treat challenge' envelopes to folks with their halloween candy asking them to donate to Carroll County Food Sunday. To date, the response has not been great in quantity, but CCFS has received over $130 in donations - which is not bad for our simple investment of envelopes and candy!
