Charismatic Catholic Answers

Mission

The mission of this site is to collect resources to educate the public on the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and, if necessary, to respond with research to misleading attacks and characterizations of the Renewal. Those who make misleading, hasty, and ill-considered attacks on the Renewal would do well to consider this passage from Matthew 23:13b:  "for you neither enter yourselves, nor allow those who would enter to go in." If you yourself choose to reject the New Pentecost for these times, you are certainly free to do so; but you cannot expect others to keep silent if your words are unnecessarily hindering others from entering into the New Pentecost. This site is maintained by Oswald Sobrino, M.A. (Theology), whose blog is Catholic Analysis.

Response to Misleading Article by the Late Fr. Most

The Catholic Culture website hosts a collection of writings by the late Fr. William Most. Unfortunately, the collection includes a misleading attack on the Catholic Charismatic Renewal that can confuse the uninformed reader who lacks the time or ability to research and evaluate the ill-considered and overreaching attacks in this very lengthy article (excessive length seems to be a tried and true polemical tactic to shock and overwhelm the average reader). You can find my response to this unfortunate article at this link. My response is made with due respect to the memory of the late Fr. Most, but a forceful response is made necessary by the need to pursue the truth and to prevent unnecessary confusion and fear by earnest readers. Let no one, even the deceased, block others from freely and joyfully entering into the New Pentecost that is a "current of grace" from the Holy Spirit.
