On Friday, October 14th, our Centennial Marching Chargers are traveling to St. Louis for the Bands of America Super Regionals being held in the Edward Jones Dome - home of the NFL's St. Louis Rams. The Centennial Band Boosters want to take as many Band Parents and Band Supporters to St. Louis, to help cheer on the Marching Chargers in competition. We have arranged for three Peoria Charter Coaches to take the band to St. Louis. The band will occupy two full buses, and the Color Guard will ride in the third bus. This leaves us with 30 extra seats, available on a first come, first served basis for parents and supporters to purchase. The cost for round-trip transportation, to St. Louis and back to Champaign, is $25.00 per seat. This price does not include your addmission ticket to the Bands of America show. Mr. Allen will provide ticket purchase information very soon. If you purchase a seat on the charter buses, we understand you are "along for the ride". You will not be required to conduct any chaperone or supervisory duties. You will need to be aware of the Band's schedule, and be prepared to depart Champaign and depart St. Louis when the band does. You will also need to be prepared to wear lots of Centennial clothing and cheer very loudly when the band performs. We estimate departure from Champaign sround 9:00am on Friday morning. There will be a meal stop en route to St. Louis. The band performs at 2:45pm. We plan to stay at the Edward Jones Dome, sit in a large group and watch a number of the performing bands throughout the day. We will depart St. Louis at a time TBD and return to Champaign Friday evening. If you wish to reserve seats on the St. Louis Charter, please e-mail Boyd LaFoon at bclnews@yahoo.com. Please include the words "St. Louis Charter" in the e-mail subject line. Payment for bus seats will be due no later than Friday, September 30th. Make checks payable to the Centennial Band Boosters. You can drop payments in the Band Office Box, mail to the PO Box, or bring by the Blue Tent during the next two home football games. We know it's a Friday- but this is a once-in-a-long-time opportunity to see our band perform on one of the biggest stages. Please consider attending the BOA show, and help us defray the cost of the Band buses by purchasing a charter seat. GO MARCHING CHARGERS! |

Reminder that the first home football game is this Friday, Sept 9th. Call time for the band is 5:00. We will wear our full uniforms for Friday’s football game. Students will need to wear their Centennial Shorts, black socks, Dinkle band shoes, and marching band t-shirts so they will be able to put their uniforms over the shorts and band shirts. Please make sure that socks are long black socks. It is easy to notice socks that are not black or not full length. They should also be plain black, with no insignia's or other markings. |
