Yu-Han (Eugenia) Chao was born and grew up in Taipei, Taiwan.  She received her BA from National Taiwan University, MFA from Penn State University and currently teaches at The University of California, Merced. 

She is poetry editor for the Rose & Thorn Journal and reviews for Rattle and Women's Review of Books.
