It all began sometime in 2006 when my oldest daughter, 7 years old at the time, had to draw up a family tree to take to school... There we were, my husband and I, trying to remember who our grandparents were. Then, my husband remembered he had a family tree he took to school when he was little...off he went, searching the boxes of "stuff" he couldn't bring himself to part with when we did some major purging of things a couple of years earlier. We managed to send our daughter off to school with a pretty simple family tree (my husbands' and my own granparents were are far as we could go) and that was that. Not even two months after that, we still had not put the old family tree my husband had found among his things back in the box where it had been kept for many years. I took a look at it and after a couple of minutes I thought it would be pretty cool to see if I could find where those people came from and who their parents.were... Let's just say, I've been bitten by the "bug" of genealogy research ever since! LOL
* Though this site pretty much pertains to my husband's ancestors, I'll be adding any information about my side of the family whenever I find something worth sharing :D -----------0----------
