In this second installment, Simon's wife, Cordelia, stands at the facade of their home and waits for herhusband's safe return.  "Moving On"I just finished the short film titled "Moving On" for my senior thesis class at the University of Michigan, School of Art & Design. It was screened at the historical Michigan Theater located in Ann Arbor and received high acclaim from faculty, students, and the general public. Don't worry, you can still see it online. This reel features some of my best work created in Autodesk Maya 2009 and Adobe After-Effects CS3. Focus is placed on character and scene modeling, animation, lighting, and imagineering for storytelling. This animation won an award in the University of Michigan, School of Art & Design's 8th Annual All Student Exhibition. It was made in Adobe After-Effects using 2D objects created in Photoshop. The story takes place in a crude, industrial city called Old Moldton. There was a time when the city was known for it's period of Renaissance. One could bask in it's magnificence and enjoy the smell of her clean air and blue skies. Now the city's only focus is on its factories and warehouses. Humans are the cogs that keep the factories running. If one person stops, the entire system collapses. This animation tells the story of one man, Simon, as he struggles against this industry driven city to be with his wife. Enjoy! See more in the Reels section |
