![]() About Reflections & General Information Reflections is a FREE program sponsored by the National PTA every year for all students in Pre-K through 12th grade regardless of skill level (CFES focuses on Pre-K through 5th Grade). This program encourages students to express his/her artistic talents by writing, dancing, composing, & creating visual art. All creations are based on a theme. The Theme for 2011 - 2012 is "Diversity Means...". All the student has to do is think about what the theme “Diversity Means…” means to him/her, choose one of the categories below, and create an original piece of work that reflects his/her interpretation of “Diversity Means…”. However, before you begin, you MUST visit the "General & Specific Rules" link. It is very important to review all rules
specific to that entry’s category. Each category has its own set of rules that must be followed. In addition to the National PTA rules, each
individual PTA unit is allowed to add additional rules. Failure to follow the rules will result in
disqualification, so PLEASE take time and review all the rules and regulations. Once the student is finished with his/her creation, remember to fill out the Student Entry Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, and any other form required as per your specific rules & regulations . Attach the competed forms to the entry as specified in your chosen category’s rules & regulations. All forms can be found on the "Reflections Forms" link. The Categories are: Musical Composition Literature Photography Dance Choreography Visual Arts Film/Video Productions Entries will be judged in two age groups per category. Pre-K through second grade will be judged together, and third through fifth grade will be judged together. A special ceremony will be held for all participants. All entries will be displayed/shown, and each participant will receive an award and individual recognition for each category entered. The students who are awarded first, second, third place, or honorable mention will receive an additional special award. |
