  • Writing and Publishing - Move from the teacher to peers, family and community

    • Introdution -includes essential question(s), this is the "hook"
    • Task- project students will do or job of students
    • Process - steps students will follow and links to resources
    • Evaluation - Rubric
    • Conclusion - congratulations and extensions
    • Teacher Page - tips for other teachers
  • Problem-solving Activities: Create a problem-solving scenario in which students use online resources to acquire background information, gather evidence to evaluate competing points of view and use their critical-thinking abilities to work out a well-reasoned solution.
  • Decision-making Activities: Create a dilemma or frame a controversy. Ask students to use online resources to gain perspective on the issue, test alternatives and recommend a course of action.
  • Real Research - Software analysis tools that allow students to explore and question (probes, handhelds, graphing calculators, digital microscopes, excel)
  •  Discovery through experimentation - students can explore a system by altering variables and monitoring the results.  Tools:  Decisions, Decisions, Tom Snyder Software (we have both)
