Northern Star

Northern Star  1915 – 1955

The school was located 14 miles north of Clandonald.  In 1927 the school was destroyed by fire, classes continued in the school barn.  A new school was built in 1928.  When the school closed in 1955 the building was sold and moved to the Derwent area.

Frank Molineux was the only former student of Northern Star, who attended  the school site marker installation on June 14, 2008.  However, there was an enthusiastic group of folks there who also had memories of  Northern Star.   Once more there was a background of trees for the sign.  Charles  Lovell  was responsible for the preparation of the site and organizing the day.
