Devonia Lake School
S. D. # 3875    1921 - 1954

Devonia Lake is south and west of Lloydminster. Many of the early residents were from Devonshire, England.  When the  school district was being named,  a vote was taken.

Quote from “Earnest Minded Men” –“The Devons Won “  The community had not felt the need for a school until the end of  World War I.

A group of very interested former students and neighbors met at the school site on a rainy Sunday in June.  Some were not sure of the exact location.   Werner Wennekamp  remembered that he rode his horse straight over a particular hill and the school was across the road at the bottom of the hill.   We enjoyed the Wennekamp's hospitality that day.
