Creative team

We are proud to announce the following members of the creative team for our 2009 Christmas Cabaret:

Peter John Mills - Director
Peter's first connection with Centre Stage was nearly 20 years ago when he 'adapted' a number of Gilbert & Sullivan classics - Starship Pinafore was a particular highlight! In 1991, he got the chance to direct his first show for the company, a camp classic called Little Mary Sunshine - and he hasn't looked back since. He has given up counting the shows and revues he has directed for the company but has loved every one of them (with special memories of Good News, Crazy For You, Little Shop of Horrors, A Slice of Saturday Night, West Side Story and A Chorus Line). When not rehearsing a show, Peter earns his money by teaching History at Beal High School where he also stages productions, such as Seussical the Musical and Fame. Peter feels very privileged to have worked with the many talented people Centre Stage attracts and to have made so many good friends in the process.

Cara Turtington - Chief choreographer
Cara began dancing at the age of 4 in her hometown of Bolton and continued to train and perform in both the West Midlands and Nottingham until the age of 21. The first show she choreographed was Cabaret at the age of 18. Cara joined Centre Stage back in 2000 when she moved to London and has choreographed many successful shows for the company since, including A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, Hot Mikado, Bat Boy and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Associate choreographers for All I want for Christmas is... Centre Stage! are: Natalie Hodgson, Emily King, David Thompson and Cheryl Richards

Elizabeth Hemming - Musical Director
Elizabeth (Fizz) trained as a classical pianist and vocalist at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Since graduating she has worked mainly in musical theatre. Originally from Cheltenham, Elizabeth began musically directing at the Everyman Theatre. Productions included Follow The Star, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and West Side Story. Other local productions include Will Rogers, Fame, Honk and Little Shop of Horrors (Jill Woods Theatre Company. For Centre Stage Fizz has musically directed Hot Mikado, A Chorus Line, Dames at Sea, Anything Goes, Bat Boy, The Fix and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
