**Congratulations to all who participated in the annual Run with Poles Race at Irondale on Thursday. It was a great success, everyone ran extremely well and we all had fun!

Arctic Commando Trail Run Coverage

John Kendrick reports: Sixty-seven runners toed the line for the annual Arctic Commando Trail Run hosted by the St. Paul Central Nordic Ski team. Soren Larson set a new course record of 20:04 in the 5K, followed by Sam Oftedahl and Drew Carlson. Kathleen Dewahl broke her own course record to win the womens 5K in 24:45, with Nora Gilbertson and Gretchen Mueller taking second and third. Youth ruled in the 2-mile race with Maleta Moulsoff (11) winning in 17:21 followed by Rachel Clark (12) in second and Joey Waite (10) in third.

Spotlight: Sisu Juniors Program

Last fall, the Sisu Skiers program evolved into the new Sisu Nordic Ski Foundation. The new program builds off the old traditions but has infused new blood as well. Thursday mornings workout was all classical, with the roughly 60 skiers broken into four groups with seven coaches. Ben Popp and Jojo Winters worked one advanced group, Jamie Misner and Mike Nightingale with the other. John Swain lead a group of intermediate skiers, and founder Ahvo Taipale and Richard Clark worked on technique with a mixed group.
