Central Florida is one of the largest Chapters in the FSMTA, serving Orlando and Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole & Sumter counties. We have more than 600 members on the roll…and we’re growing!
With a strong presence in the Central Florida region, we are committed to the growth of our members’ practices. We offer a variety of unique networking and practice-building opportunities, job alerts, discounted CE courses and social activities. We vigilantly stay informed, and keep our members informed, of the many health and legislative issues affecting our ability to practice. This includes medical insurance billing issues for massage and local zoning and ordinances that incorrectly classify licensed massage therapy as adult entertainment.
Our goal is to provide great value for your annual dues by offering 2-CE seminars, at no charge, at each monthly chapter meeting; discounts on many CE courses; mentoring program; the opportunity to network with your peers and up-to-date knowledge about current events that affect our profession. We invite nationally recognized speakers to present at our chapter meetings each month. These cutting edge techniques enhance our skills as massage therapists and help us achieve success and recognition in our profession and communities.
FSMTA members participate, at a discounted rate, in one of the best massage conventions in the country, held mid-year annually. Our 2012 FSMTA Convention will be held at the beautiful Omni Orlando Resort at Champions Gate, June 27 - July 1, 2012. Our theme is "Believe - Invest - Grow". Believe in yourself, Invest in your future and Grow in your profession.
We actively participate in raising awareness of our profession with Legislative Awareness Days in April each year. Our grassroots initiative includes visiting Representatives in their local offices and discussing the concerns and issues of our profession. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to thank them for the many ways they support us as both professionals and citizens of the great State of Florida.
Massage Therapy has never been more recognized or respected than it is today. The FSMTA has worked tirelessly since 1939 to fulfill its mission “To Unify the Massage Therapy Profession While Creating, Representing, and Promoting Standards of Excellence in Health Care”. We actively participate in Massage Therapy Awareness Week (MTAW) events, held throughout the US each year in October, providing public education and awareness for the health care profession of Massage Therapy.
In all we say and all we do, our Central Florida Chapter is a family. We work hard, we play hard, and we’re there for each other… every step of the way! |
