Subpage ListingAbout the siteI initially made up this website to keep track the "tactical" websites, forums, blogs, gear, pictures, documents, etc etc. I figured I'd spice it up and share it as someone else might benefit from the information I've collected over the years. CENTCOM_Survivor is my screen name over at AR15.com. When I registered I had just left the Army and was just glad to have survived my time at CENTCOM, so I figured the name fit. It stuck and I now use it on most of the "tactical" forums' I frequent. About me: I joined the Army in 1995 and went into the Military Police Corps. After basic and AIT, I was stationed on Johnston Atoll with the USARPAC MPC for a one year tour. We did physical security of chemical munitions and island security. I was then stationed at Ft Hood Texas with the 545th MP Company, First Cavalry Division. We did garrison patrols but spent most of our time in the field. We did a "intrinsic action" rotation to Kuwait and a few NTC and JRTC rotations. I left the 545th for Division Headquarters and was part of the Personal Security Detail (driver) for the ADC (Assistant Division Commander). We deployed to Bosnia for nine months with Operation Joint Forge (SFOR5). Once back to Texas I re-enlisted after finding I could get a PSD slot at CENTCOM, MacDill AFB in Tampa. We conducted personal security for Gen Franks and the official party. We traveled all over the Middle East and the world. After 911 things got really exciting (BUSY) and somehow we all made it out in one piece. In 2003 I left the Army to pursue a career in law enforcement, but I'll never forget my time in the Army or the friends I've made. I'm also the Law Enforcement Correspondent and a moderator over at ITS Tactical. The guys (and gal) over at ITS are great people and I count myself very lucky to be associated with the company. Everyone there works really hard to put out great articles that everyone can benefit from. |
