Introduction!

  • What is a Pathfinder?
A pathfinder is a collection of resources, both print and online, on a particular topic
that will assist in the research process
.

  • Why will a Pathfinder help me?
A pathfinder will provide you with resources specific to cells in order to complete your research.  Each resource was picked specifically for your age and average knowledge level.  The resources were evaluated based on the purpose of the learning, how it was presented, and the accuracy of the information.  A brief description of each resource is given so you can skim to see if it will be beneficial for what you are searching for.  And sample searches are provided to give you hints and help for searching.

  • How do I use a Pathfinder?
The pathfinder is divided into the type of resource available.  First browse all resource options and the sample searches to be aware of any helpful hints that may be beneficial during your search.  Then begin reading about specific resources that best fit what you are looking for and that interest you.

  • What type of information should I look for?
In the attachments below are some notes sheets that you could use to guide your learning.  Remember you are not looking ONLY for information on the note sheets, they are just there to guide you.  You may find information that you should write down on your own note sheet as well.  Let your learning follow its own path!!
