Getting Around Valencia

Taxi

A quick and good option, though it is recommended not to use it in rush hours (from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 15 to 18 p.m.)
There are three types of prices:
- Price 1: for the metropolitan area from 6 a.m. to 22 p.m.
- Price 2: for metropolitan area, from 22 p.m. in working days, and on Saturday, Sundays, and holidays in or out of the metropolitan area.

- Price 3: for Saturdays, Sundays and holiday out of the limits of the city.

A short ride will cost a minimum of 2.60 Euros.

Bus

There are different bus companies that cover the different areas of Valencia

- Around the city (yellow colour)

- Aero-bus (blue colour): Direct bus service Airport/Valencia/Airport. Every day, from 6.00 am to 22.00 pm. (every 20 minutes). Approx. price: 2,50 €. Stops: Airport (Departures Terminal)- Av. del Cid with Burgos Street (Local Police Headquarters)- Bailén (G.V.Ramón y Cajal tunnel)- Ángel Guimerá with Juan Llorens Street- Av. del Cid (in front of Local Police Headquarters)- Airport.
- Other destinations: Departures from the Bus Station (Menéndez Pidal Avenue)
- Within the city (red colour) EMT (Valencia Local Transports Company). It has 91 lines by day and 7 by night, which will allow you to go even to the most hidden spot of the city. In most of the stops, you will find a map of the city with the routes of all the lines.

Lines & Schemes

The frequency of the main lines is around 5 or 6 minutes. In summer, there are three more lines to the beaches of Malvarrosa and Las Arenas.

MetroValencia - Underground

There are four underground lines that connect the centre of the city with the sorrounding towns : Line 1 (yellow), Line 3 (red), Line 4 (blue), Line 5 (green).

The prices that you will find are:
- For a single ticket 1.10 (for zones A, B, C, D)
- Discount card b-10 is valid for 10 journeys in zone A with changeovers allowed between EMT and Metro, or 2 EMT lines. The price is 6.70€ and can be purchased in Metro stations, tobacconists and kiosks.(zone A)

Bicycle & Metro - On Sundays, Bank Holidays and Saturdays before 2pm bicycles are permitted on the entire network.

Tram

The Tram is part of the Valencia Metro System and has the added advantage that permits you to transport your bicycle on board during weekdays and Saturdays after 2pm. A modern and alternative transport.

The tram in Valencia goes from the Pont de Fusta (Wooden Bridge), near the Serrano Towers, around the main streets of the city. servicing the Polytechnic University and ends at the beaches of Las Arenas and La Malv.

Tourist Bus

Exclusively designed for the tourist, it offers an interesting tour around the city. In every stop, the travellers can get off and get on the bus again if they wish so. The same company also offers bus tours in surrounding areas.

Historical Center Sunday Tour

Guided visits every THURSDAY for the historical Center of Valencia . From 11.00 to 13.00. Starts in Virgen de los Desamparados Basilica (in front of the Square fountain)
