The Ceilidh Part

Dance instructions

For some people, the last time they performed ceilidh dancing (or Scottish country dancing for the posh folk) was at school. Memories of boys lining up along one side of the hall and girls on the other come flooding back. The smallest boy with the tallest girl - that kind of thing. Don't worry - we don't treat you like that, and we certainly don't make you dance in your pants if you forget to bring your PE kit.

We can provide dance instruction as Ray the guitar player can call the dances, and so can Stephen the accordion player. Don't worry though, it's all done with good humour to get a great atmosphere.

Some people ask us if they should have a ceilidh, even if their guests have never done this kind of dancing before. Well, provided people aren't too drunk and they are willing to give it a try, this is usually not a problem.

Hear the band

Before you book us, you need to know what we sound like. We have a series of sound samples to give you an idea of what the band sounds like - click here.  Most of the clips were recorded when we had accordion, drums and piano playing. If you would prefer to come along to one of our ceilidhs in person, then simply drop us an email and we'll give you some suggested dates. Please remember though that it is someone else's party/wedding so you might only get as far as the door to have a listen. Remember too that we will be working so we won't be able to chat to you.
