Welcome to the Explore Christianity with Friends International website.
Here you'll find information about the courses we run and where we run them. There are also 'catch up' blogs for the Explore group and many other resources.

The courses run almost continually through the year and are specifically designed for international students and visiting scholars, where English is a second or even third lan
guage. Whilst the main Explore course is about studying what the Bible has to say and what the Christian message is, it is not like being in lectures! It is discussional and we split into small groups, so it is easier to ask questions. You will not be asked to read aloud and you can say as little or as much as you want. It's also great for improving your English!

Running alongside this is a Discipleship (ID) group for international student/scholar Christians which is a bit like a church house group. We tend to look at the Bible systematically cons
idering what it means to live out a Christian faith through God's grace, and what that might look like in different cultures, especially when we return to our home countries. Both groups eat together first before splitting off.

If you have
any questions or would like to find out more, please fill out and submit the form below, and we'll try to respond as soon as possible. Friends International also run a program of exciting events and trips for internationals throughout the year.

  • The Explore course: For the next two weeks (24th and 31st) there will be no course. This is because the leaders are having a planning meeting and because of exams. All 9 weeks of the main course and the 3 weeks of the 'Practical Christianity' course are now available to revisit - if you want to look at any of them, take a look at the blog posts for each week.
  • The ID group: This coming week (31st) is tbc. Please check this site and your emails for more info soon. Probable full session.
  • London Summer Training Week - 19th to 21st June 2012. (Please note this is only open to people in the ID group.) Organised by The Philip Project (Friends International), the training week is "an opportunity to spend a few days learning some important skills to make God's Word known in your home culture in an accurate and exciting way." The cost is ONLY £25, though you will need to either commute or find your own accommodation. Click here to view a pdf of the brochure. Ask Pete for more information.
  • The Isle of Wight Annual Cycle Ride was awesome! See the International Café website for the great film made by Sim.
  • International Café @ Soton Uni continues through the exam period. Click here for more info.
  • If you don't yet receive Friends International email updates with news on events, activities and trips, then sign-up on the FI website. It only takes a few seconds.
  • New Word Alive 2012. Fantastic! Praise God for a safe journey home despite a few minibus 'issues.'
