Volunteers

Hundreds of research studies show that when parents get involved, children do better in school. .Would you like to lend a hand, and help your child at the same time?  This year the PTO has brainstormed to try and figure out a way to make 2008-09 the most successful year yet.  Below is a pledge form for an “Hour of Power” which we are asking parents and/or guardians, to volunteer a minimum of an one hour each quarter, that’s only 4 hours for the academic year.
Just like us, volunteerism comes in a variety of shapes and sizes.  We know
families have many commitments and activities which keep them busy all year long but we’re hoping that by making this minimum pledge, we can take our
children’s education to a whole new level.  Oftentimes the focus of the PTO is financial, and while that is extremely important, we also want to communicate our “volunteer” budget needs as well.  Our school theme this year is
“Be All That You Can Be @ CCE,
let’s help our children accomplish this goal and lead by example.  It’s important that children see our involvement in their lives and there are many, many volunteer opportunities.
We recognize that many of our parents already volunteer on a weekly basis and we are so pleased with their commitment and dedication.  We also realize that many of our parents work outside the home and this makes volunteering more difficult.  There are ways you can help and it doesn’t involve coming to the school.  Please fill out the “Hour of Power” form and we’ll get ideas to you.  Also this year, we’d love to welcome grandparents to our school.  If you think
they are interested, please write their name and contact information in the spaces provided and we’ll get opportunities to them as well.
The CCE PTO is a parent volunteer organization that supports the school by organizing volunteers for various programs and by providing financial assistance through fundraising for enrichment programs, computer equipment, software and other items not available through district funds. We need more than money for CCE to have a successful year.  We need our parents and guardians to be engaged and committed.  We need you to be involved because if
everyone does SOMETHING, no one has to do EVERYTHING!
