The Chimaltenango Children's Education Fund began in the 1990's as a group of concerned parents, teachers, and citizens in the municipality of Tecpán, of the department of Chimaltenago, Guatemala. Working with various volunteers and donors from Europe and the United States over the years, they have helped find funding and support for their projects.
Application Process
Teachers and school volunteers nominate students with the following Given approval by the board, the guardian of the student receives 50% of the student's tuition costs each month. Guardians are required to bring a copy of the student's quarterly report card, and students are required to pass all of their classes each quarter.
All students are offered tutoring through CCEF's volunteers, usually teachers, on any subject they desire.
