Risk Statement
To promote and foster the safe and enjoyable sailing and cruising in sailing yachts, this Risk Statement clarifies the risks and responsibilities of members attending or participating in Coastal Cruising Club of Australia Inc. (the Club) activities.
Members acknowledge and accept that.
-
Participation in events organised by the Club may involve certain risks which include the possibility of harm or damage to its vessels, equipment or persons inherently associated with the perils of the sea or weather.
-
Such risks will require the exercise of the prior judgment of members on behalf of themselves, their guests and invitees whether to commence or continue any particular activity irrespective of information supplied by Club officers.
-
It is the responsibility of individual members and/or skippers to determine whether or not to undertake or continue any passage or activity.
-
Information provided by the Club through its meetings, publications or activities is intended as a guide only and is not necessarily endorsed by the Club.
It is strongly recommended that members have appropriate public liability insurance for their vessels and their occupants. May 2007
