Shout out

I just want to say how great it was having Allen back with the band on Thursday night at the Back To School Bash party, and again on Sunday.  Allen - We missed you and it was impressive how you just jumped right back in and nailed the songs.  Nice work!

A&J - We have some work to do on the microphone situation.  The Sunday fiasco with cascading microphone failures was potentially embarrassing.  Thank goodness we had a bunch of calm, cool, professionals up there who just took it all in stride!  Final score: God 1,000,000 / The Punk 0.

I completely agree. Two guitars sound good, and it's nice to get J back on the thunder-maker too. I'm across the bay this am and I'll look for some rechargeable 9volts. I think that will not only bandaid it temporarily but be the long term solution as well. If the new mixer is approved, those kind of kinks will disaapear.

Glad to see you all using this site, it's suites me well!
Thanks for the encouragement!! And thank God for sending the right kind of helper for the med office here!

I did not realize the Jeremy was not amplified until Linda mentioned it. I heard him in the monitor, or so I thought. Maybe I was so busy trying to play the mandolin i wasn't paying attention!!!! Could it be a board problem as well?

It looks like I've overcomplicated my situation again with too many instruments. Acoustic, electric and mandolin. I love playing them all but what would be the best for the group. I'm glad to bring all to find what fits or any suggestions would be appreciated. It really depends on the song.

Yeah I had to blow the dust off of this bookmark on my browser, but I think it's a great tool also.

Again, for the microphones - It took me a minute to figure out that Jeremy was losing his mic too because I was standing right next to him. Flawless transition in passing the new mic over. Nice job.
I didn't find any rechargable 9volts but that doesnt mean they don't exist. http://www.megabatteries.com/cat_featured_items.asp?cat1=13&cat=2&id=115&uid=1019 seems to be about $32 + s/h for 8 rechargable 9V's. That would cover downstairs. Maybe we could pass this info along to Tim and pick up a couple more for him too.
Also what kind of power does Russell's headset use? There are mix & match packages in that site also.

Allen - as far as the instruments go - I think if Jeremy wants to go back to bass, then acoustic and electric are fine for our "performances/ praise services." Sunday mornings would be cool to have the mandolin (and John's violin too) plus the two guitars. The only problem I see in mixing instruments is when we involve the piano. Not only is it in between 1/4 & 1/2 step out, but it's not that way across each key. Tough to tune the guitar to it. That being said, I don't think we ought to abandon the piano entirely. Or the organ. So the short answer Allen is to bring what instrument suits you, and whatever the song needs or works.
