  • Thorn Lane, Kangaroo Point — Construction of Contraflow Cycle Lane

    A contraflow cycle lane will be constructed between Castlebar and Thorn Streets on Thorn Lane (parallel to Shafston Avenue). Work will commence on Monday 1 March and is scheduled to be completed by Friday 12 March.

    Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when travelling through the location.

  • South Bank Boardwalk Diversions

    The week starting Monday 22 February 2010, there will be some changes to the southern end of the Parklands, South Bank, close to the Goodwill Bridge. This will affect cyclist and pedestrian access and will see increased vehicle traffic on Sidon Street. Please travel with caution in this area and follow the signage. Map.

  • Bicentennial Bikeway Partial Closure

    Updated: Delayed until 22–26 March.

    There will be partial closures of the Bicentennial Bikeway for geotechnical testing starting Wed 24th Feb Mon 22nd Mar. A vehicle with drilling equipment will be positioned at various locations along the following sections of the bikeway:

    • Bicentennial - Hale St Link East (boardwalk to Hale St works)
      24 – 26 Feb & 1 – 2 Mar
    • Bicentennial Stage 3 (Park Road to Lang Parade Ramp)
      3 – 5 Mar

    This partial bikeway closure will be for 25m sections and will be controlled by traffic controllers with stop/go signs. Partial closure times will be between 9am and 3:30pm.

    Cyclists and pedestrians can expect delays of up to 5 minutes during these times.

  • Victoria Park — Brisbane Grammar Schools

    The shared path through Victoria Park behind the Grammar Schools will be partially closed for the installation of light poles. The work will commence on Wednesday 10th February until Friday 19 February.

    Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to access the pathway, but are advised to exercise caution as construction equipment will be in operation at times. Traffic Controllers will be present to assist users.

  • Oakman Park, Taringa

    The shared path through Oakman Park from Moggill Road to Miskin Street will be partially closed for the installation of light poles. The work will commence on Monday 08 February until Friday 19 February.

    Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to access the pathway, but are advised to exercise caution as construction equipment will be in operation at times. Traffic Controllers will be present to assist users.

  • Shaw Park — Works Near Shared Pathway

    Contractors will be working on pipes near the shared pathway through Shaw Park at Kalinga. At times, they may need to move equipment and material across the pathway. Cyclists and pedestrians will need to stop for short periods or detour around short areas while this occurs. Workmen will assist users through the location if necessary.

    Signage will be in place to advise users of the work which will commence in mid January for approximately one month.

    Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution through the area during the work.
