What is YCALS?

YCALS is a project of the Bay Area branch of Extra Hands for ALS. I founded YCALS to promote awareness of the disease ALS and increase involvement in the fight against it. Volunteers are dedicated to the cause and seek to raise money in the difficult battle against ALS.

We hope to engage others through various activities including fundraisers, benefits, research projects, visits to patients, campaigns, and walks. From simple acts of kindness, like selling ALS bracelets, to more complex campaigns involving detailed planning, all youth (especially energetic and promising ones) are empowered to make a difference.

YCALS includes opportunities for community service hours through three main elements based on the member's interests. Advertise advocacy for business experience, research for scientific experience, and interact with patients for social service experience.

We are currently located in the San Francisco Bay Area, but youths of all ages and places are encouraged to join us!

A Note

First of all, I would like to welcome you to this YCALS website. It is my honor and pleasure to provide you with information about ALS advocacy. Please visit my homepage (the link is at the bottom this page) to learn more about my progress on ALS advocacy, volunteering, and research.
I am the founder of YCALS (Youth Council for ALS) and have been involved in dry research, volunteering, and advocacy for ALS since January of 2005.
Please do not hesitate to contact me to learn more about YCALS, Extra Hands for ALS, or The ALS Association.
I have a research portfolio that is available upon resquest and I will discuss with anyone interested. It contains a compilation of my own dry research and the research of many other scientists.
My ultimate goal is to help  spread advocacy about ALS and make sure that there is a cause and a cure known during my lifetime, and I hope to spread my own passion for advocacy, volunteering, and research to those who meet me and those who join YCALS.
Regards,
P. G. Priyam
