September Meeting

At the September Meeting (Thursday, September 11th @ 6:30 pm) we'll look at TrueCrypt and how to use it to encrypt your files. This is a great, free program. We'll take a look at FireFox 3 and check out the advanced security features. Version 3 has some serious security improvements over prior versions, and other browsers, that make it an excellent choice for browsing the web.

We'll look at some Google search tips, such as limiting your searches to particular sites, including synonyms, limiting your searches to certain file types, and other cool things you can do with Google to improve your searching. If we have time, we may do a little "Google Hacking".

Finally, we'll look at a some tips and tricks to keep you safe while online. I'm still trying to fill in this part, so stay tuned for more details. In the meantime... If you've got a tip or trick you use to stay safe online, share it here! We'll look at them in the meeting and spread the word. Just reply to this thread.
