I am a Canadian, woman living in very rural Nova Scotia. I attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design for approximately 4.5 years. Presently I am a Fine Art Mature Student at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick.
I have been a realist painter for many years specializing in portraiture and have had a variety of subject matter.
As of late I experienced a major creative awakening and a change in direction with my artwork. I am greatly involved with the creative process once again, after coming to the realization over time that I had lost touch with this process.
I still have my passion for realism, though this change in direction is very exciting and freeing to me as a person and as an artist.
It is my hope that as an artist others will be moved to see and live life creatively.
Artist Statement
I believe that creativity is what we are all naturally born
with. Some folks have a natural inclination and need to
express this , though I believe being creative is not
exclusive to the artist.
As an artist I have a desire to encourage others to live
their lives creatively. I hope that my artwork will enable
this to happen. I hope my artwork reflects the beauty of
creation all around and within.
Living life with humour, humility, and having a love of
humanity is what I strive for in all that I am, and do,
especially with my artwork and as an artist.
