Liturgical Volunteer Opportunities

Here are a few ways to be part of the liturgy at St. Paul's:

Choir/Instrumental Accompaniment – Singing in the choir or playing the accompanying instrumentation is a beautiful ministry that can enhance the prayerful experience of the congregation during Mass. The choir is a beautiful place to meet fellow Catholic vocalists, a great way to learn how to sing, and an incredibly important part of the student Mass at Harvard. The student choir meets every Sunday at 3:30 PM to rehearse for the student Mass at 5 PM. We welcome participants to join whenever they can. All musicians, especially pianists and organists, are also asked to attend rehearsal. Please contact Ben Li (bli@fas.harvard.edu) with any questions.

Eucharistic Ministers – Extraordinary Ministers (EMs) of Holy Communion serve the important task of handling either the Body or Blood of Christ during Communion. Eucharistic Minister training occurs every semester, and trained EMs are usually asked to serve several times a semester. Please contact Shauna Stewart (shaunastewart13@college.harvard.edu)

Lectors – Lectors proclaim the Word of God through the readings at Mass. Lector training occurs every semester, and lectors are usually asked to serve once or twice a semester.   Please contact Patrick Rooney (pjrooney.14@gmail.com) for more information.

Church Decorating – At the turn of every liturgical year the church needs to be redecorated to create the proper atmosphere for the season. If you'd like to help with this service to the community, please contact Mat Schnorenberg (schnorenberg@college.harvard.edu).
