Introduction

                
            In Karen Cushman's book Catherine, Called Birdy, you read about the life of Catherine, a young lady living in Medieval times, through her journal entries. Your quest is to learn about the Medieval life of Catherine by writing your own journal and then sharing your information you found with your classmates on the Medieval Feast day.  Your journal will be kept for five days, and on each day you will have a short assignment to write in your journal.  Also, you will be put into a group and your group will be given a choice of a Medieval topic to create a short
presentation skit with the information you find.  For Medieval Feast day, you will all find a recipe within the books provided by your teacher at the beginning of the week and fix the dish for the Medieval Feast day for everyone to enjoy.  By the end of your quest we will see if you think living in Medieval times is what you would want to do.  Hopefully you will not be plagued by fleas in your process.
