My name is Caterina Calsamiglia and I am an ICREA Research Professor at IPEG. I got my PhD from the Department of Economics at Yale University. My research focuses on market design and public policy design with a particular interest in education. My work includes theoretical, experimental and empirical analysis. In the recent years I have been leading a research initiative to help develop Pentabilities, a methodology to develop socioemotional learning by integrating feedback based on behavioral evidence collected in the classroom.  

In Sept 2022- March 2024 I led the design and implementation of 4 large-scale RCTs in Catalunya, Andalucía, Ceuta and Melilla.  Three of them are implemented through Fundació Bofill and the program Suport Educatiu. The fourth through Fundesplai and the program Hedera. 

I am part of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity group at the University og Chicago,  collaborate with several research initiatives such as Cooperation4Climate and the the BESSI team in psychology.

I am visiting the Department of Economics and CADMY (Center for Algorithms, Data and Market Design) at Yale University from April to Aug 2024.
