Cătălin Mosoia

  • Certificate of Appreciation awarded in 2010 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in grateful recognition of the commitment and outstanding contribution to the success of  the International Year of Astronomy 2009 in Romania.  
  • Special Mention at the 2008 Science Journalism Prize initiated by the Romanian Press Club. Details here
  • The National Authority for Scientific Research 2007 Prize for contribution to the visibility of Science and Technology.
  • Diploma of Excellence awarded in 2007 at the Palace of the Parliament by the House of Europe EUROLINK for special merits brought to the Romanian society by actively promoting the crucial concept of the European Union - "knowledge society", as well as science journalism - through articles, reports and interviews broadcasted by Radio Europa FM. 
  • European Initiative for Communicators of Science (EICOS2004 Fellowship at Max Planck Institute, Goettingen, Germany.
  • Graduate of the faculty of mathematics-physics specialty, Bucharest University (1992) and three years after, as a result of graduating the examination probations I was granted the completion in math education. I was reading on my studies at the faculty of mathematics, pure mathematics section, Jassy University that I graduated in 1997. I have worked as volunteer and educator in an international project for street-children, and in the Romanian educational system as teacher of math, physics, and astronomy at junior and high school. My first article was published in 1993 and five years after I joined Radio Romania International, SRR. In 2000 became part of the starting team for Europa FM, the first private Romanian radio with national coverage, at the beginning as general producer and between 2003-2010 as science journalist at the news department. About two dozen of interviews were collected in my first book published in 2005.
