CATALINA ART ASSOCIATION STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (written in 1961)
It is the object of the Catalina Art Association to encourage interest in fine art in Avalon.
First: by annually presenting an exhibit, in which we welcome both amateur and
professional artists of all ages, and where generous prizes are awarded by an outstanding jury.
Second: by broadening the cultural outlook of the island community though professional
demonstrations, local discussion groups, and the donation or purchase of art books for our local library.
Third: by encouraging both amateurs and professionals to improve their creative and technical abilities though active study. To this end, the Catalina Art Association sponsors art classes in various media for both children and adults.
Fourth: to operate and maintain the Casino Art Gallery, displaying works by showing- members and host exhibitions and shows. |

The Catalina Art Association is a Non-Profit organization 501 3 c, operating from Avalon, California. It is the mission of the CAA to provide artists with various opportunities to share their art, interact with other artists and further the community atmosphere on Catalina Island. |
