Text Aligner is a tool to check/edit matching of the two corpus text files and add them to a database. To use Aligner, go to Menu -> Tool -> Text Aligner. Two corpus files
- Open a file to the left and right text box by clicking a corresponding Open button. You can specify the text encoding of the file you open.
- If you have MeCab and MeCab-Ruby installed on your system, you can convert your plain Japanese text to wakachi-gaki format by checking MeCab box. See the instruction on this page to install MeCab and MeCab-Ruby to your system. NOTE: This feature is not supported in Snow Leopard due to some changes in Snow Leopard (it crashes the application).
- Once you open the matched files, click Match/Refresh List button.
- You can check the match in the match table and if you find any mismatch, you can edit the text in the text box and click Match/Refresh button to make the changes reflected on the table..
- If you want to save the change you made to a text file, you can save it by clicking Save button (this is only available for plain text files).
- Once you are sure the two text files are aligned, click Add to Database button to add the two files to a current database.
- You can clear the table/text boxes by clicking Clear.
Single aligned corpus file
- Check Single checkbox.
- Open an aligned text file in the left box.
- Click Match/Refresh List button.
- Check the alignment, edit the text, and click Add to Database to add matched text to the current database.
