VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Flagger/Corner Marshal - Stop traffic when racers are approaching your post.  Direct racers onto the race course.
Sweep Vehicle - Support behind fields.  You drive the course behind the last racer picking up vests/radios/whistles & signs from volunteers that are out on the course.  Thank each volunteer for helping out.  You will also pick up riders that can no longer finish the race.  Please take down their bib number and report this to an official at the finish of the race.  At the finish you will make the announcer aware that you are heading back into town if someone needs a ride.  Drop vests/radios/whistles & signs off at MBSEF, along with the MBSEF van.
Neutral Support Feeders - Hand water bottles to racers as they come through the feed zone.  Feeders do not give bottles to pro racers, they will have thier own support.   After the sweep vehicle comes through please help pick up all of the empty bottles that riders have tossed to the side and put them in the plastic tubs.  Help the lead feeder load up all the plastic tubs.
Lead Feeder - Pick up bins of pre filled water bottles and deliver them to the feed zone.  After the sweep vehicle comes through return the bins with all the empty water bottles to MBSEF.
Fill Water Bottles - The night before each stage, you will fill 400-500 water bottles at MBSEF and place them in plastic tubs.
Set Up/Take Down Start & Finish - Set up/take down banners, cones, finish structure, tents, tape off area, ect.....
Crossing Guard - You will be in charge of stopping pedestrians from crossing the street into oncoming racers and kindly allowing them to pass when the coast is clear.  You will whistle ahead to the next corner so that they know that the racers are approaching.
Saddle Holders - During the time trail you will be holding the saddle of individual riders so that they can saftely mount their bikes in preperation for thier start time.
Floater - During the criterium you will walk the course and give other volunteers a break if needed.  You will also be making the Volunteer Coordinator aware of any situations that arise.
Volunteer Coordinator Assistant - You will help check in volunteers.  Hand out signs, radios, vests, and whistles.

The 30th annual Bend Memorial Clinic Cascade Cycling Classic(CCC) will be held July 21-26, 2009 The CCC is the longest consecutively run elite stage race in the country and has attracted most of North America's top cyclists and teams over the years. The quality of the race courses, the beauty of Central Oregon, the outstanding volunteers, and lastly the fun atmosphere of the race has made it a perennial favorite and has the competitors returning year after year. What an honor it is to have this outstanding venue in our back yard! As you know these events truly can't happen without each and everyone of you. I look forward to working with you on this great event.

2.  Once this document is open simply click on the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet to view each day of the racing.  At the top of each page the race date is listed followed by the specific race taking place on that day.  All the volunteer positions are listed in red with the shift times in blue.  Please feel free to sign up for multiple shifts.  Just make sure you are not promising to be in two different places at the same time.
3.  After you have decided which shift and position you would like to cover simply email me at the link provided in the box to the left, at the bottom of web page, that is labeled How do I contact the Volunteer Coordinator?.  Please try to be specific by giving me your name, the date of the race, the position, and the time of the shift.
