If it was your first computer, you were probably trying to figure out how it worked. But if your computer was not your first, you were probably amazed by how fast it was compared to your older machine. In both cases, I’ll bet it is not nearly as fast today. This session will address some of the things you can do to make your present Windows PC faster. We will focus on Windows XP, which is still the most popular PC operating system. And while there are many programs you can purchase which advertise the ability to make your PC run faster, we will look at what you can do for free. We will cover topics such as: what type of uses members make of their computers (in general and by application), what, if any, problem(s) they may have both functionally with software and also performance oriented (hardware and/or network), things they would like to do beyond what they are currently doing (including upgrade considerations), and finally any suggestions they care to make on any topic that would be beneficial to club members. We will attempt to see what can be answered, what suggestions can be made and categorize things by types and see if there are any obvious conclusions to be drawn.
