The Rants originate as short essays, written weekly and posted on the Cartwheels website (click here to see Rant's in Situ).  Each essay takes a theme (and idea or philosopher or book) and intertwines that theme with a sequence of News stories from that week. The aim is to produce an essay which is at once biting social comment, but also keeps in eye the far wider perspective, and where and why these issues arise in the first place.
