  • CSC Community Meeting/Budget Discussion Letter

    Dear Carson Families:

    A little over a week ago I sent a letter to Carson families about the current economic crisis our country is facing and the reduction in public school funding from the State of Colorado.  In spite of decreased funding Denver Public Schools has made a commitment to limit cuts in the classroom as much as possible.

    Denver Public Schools has provided schools with an overview of the District Student-Based Budget and Budget Recommendations for 2010-11.  I have shared this information with our Collaborative School Committee (CSC) and staff.  We will also be having a community meeting this Thursday, Feb. 4th at 5:00 p.m. in the library for parents and community members who would like to receive this overview of the District Student-Based Budget and District Budget Recommendations for 2010-2011.

    We will receive the budget for our school on Friday, Feb. 5. At that time I will learn more about how our 2010-11 Carson budget will be impacted so our monthly CSC meeting will be held on February 9th at 5:00 p.m.  If necessary the CSC may hold an additional meeting on February 16, 2010. 

    I am looking forward to working with our Collaborative School Committee (CSC) to review our 2010-11 budget to make certain it is aligned with the priorities of our school community and meets the needs of our students.  I welcome all parents to be part of our conversations about these important issues.

Dear Carson Families and Teachers,
 
I appreciate all you do for Carson each and every day.  Please remember we are all volunteers doing the best we can to make Carson great.  Please feel free to email me at ptacarson@gmail.com or call me at 303-321-6378 if you have any questions or concerns. 
 
PTA meetings are held monthly on the second Thursday starting at 6:30pm in the Carson Library.  Free childcare is available in the cafeteria starting at 6:15. Light snacks and drinks will be served at the meeting.  Everyone is invited to attend PTA meetings.

Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting to hear Lisa Weil from Great Education Colorado.

Our next PTA meeting will be February, 11, 2010 at 6:30pm in the Carson Library.

The PTA agenda will be posted one week prior to the meeting in the PTA display case outside of the gym doors.  PTA meeting minutes are also posted in the display case.

The Carson PTA website is part of the Carson Elementary website.  This can be a bit confusing.  If you are looking for something and you can't find it here, it may be on the main Carson website.  http://carson.dpsk12.org
