Home of the Tigers



    Welcome to the Carroll High Wrestling page.  We are located in Carroll, Iowa population of around 10,000 people.  Carroll Community School District is home to Fairview which houses Pre-K till 3,  Adams Elementary 4-5, Carroll Middle School 6-8 and Carroll High School 9-12.  Carroll High school has approximately 600 students.  We are classified 3A in wrestling.  Carroll Wrestling was established in 1923-1924 under Coach Floyd Lerdall.  Carroll Wrestling was then removed from the athletic program in 1955 due to the opening of Kuemper Catholic High School.  The program was then re-established in 1978-1979 school year under Brian Hogue.  The Carroll Tigers have had 5 Individual State Champions and 68 State qualifiers in its history.  In 1988-89 Brian Hogue and Tim Hughes won the Midwest Conference Championship and qualified for Regional Duals with a dual record of 13-1.  In 2009-2010 under Eric Nagl and Marty Tuel, the Tigers set a school record of 16 wins and 8 losses, the most wins in the programs history.  They also set the record for most pins with 162 surpassing the old record of 124.  The Tiger team of 2009-2010 also set the record for most match wins of 418.  They also won the Tiger/Knight Tournament for the first time since 1986.  In 2011-12 Carroll added IKM-Manning to the wrestling program.
