WELCOME TO THE CARRINGTON SCHOOLS PTA
The Carrington Parent Teacher Association works closely with both the Infant and the Junior schools helping to provide additional funding to enhance the education for all the children. We rely on the support from the parents to help provide these vital funds. We welcome any help you can give, even if it is only occasional, at a school social event or some ideas for the committee.
Membership is completely free. In fact, all parents/guardians are automatically members of the PTA whilst their children are at the schools.
 
WHO ARE THE PTA
All parents/guardians of children at the two schools are automatically members of the PTA. The PTA is managed by a Committee comprising of voluntary members that include both parents and teachers from the two schools. FUNDRAISING
In 2008/09 PTA activities raised over £10,000 and enabled the PTA to hand over cheques to both the Infant and Junior schools for £5,000 each. Past funding has helped the schools in the following ways:
  • NEW INTERACTIVE WHITE BOARDS FOR THE CLASSROOMS
  • PURCHASING EQUIPMENT FOR THE NEWLY CREATED I.C.T. SUITE IN THE JUNIOR SCHOOL
  • HELPING WITH THE REFURBISHMENT OF THE LIBRARY IN THE INFANT SCHOOL 

EVENTS
The PTA organises fundraising and social events throughout the year. Newsletters are sent out in your child’s school bag detailing all new fund raising events. Also, our newsletters are available on this site along with printable copies of forms needed to be returned to school.

Planned fund raising and social events for 2008/2009 include our termly Sausage Sizzle, Harrods Shopping Trip, Christmas Pudding Sale, Children’s Calendars, Easter Egg Raffle, Inset day trip to Gulliver’s Land, the Infant School Christmas Party and End of Year Discos and The Summer Fayre.

The PTA also raises funds through other activities such as the 100 Club draw which awards cash prizes throughout the school year and the Summer Fayre Raffle which always offers fantastic prizes
 
HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • SUPPORT EVENTS! – If you can spare the time, please try to come along to our fund raising events, they are always great fun and are a chance to catch up with other parents.
  • PRIZES, DONATIONS AND ADVERTISING – prizes and donations are always gratefully received and are a great way of supporting the school if you are too busy to attend any of the fund raising events in person.If you have your own company, there are two opportunities to support the school by advertising with us either in our School Calendars or in our Summer Fayre Programme.
  • JOIN THE COMMITTEE!! - have the chance to put your ideas for fund raising activities into practice and become an active part in raising valuable funds for our children. You will also get the oportunity to meet and make new friends at our meetings which are held on average once a month.
