Carolyn & Josh

403days since
Josh and Carolyn's Wedding

Ceremony

None of this is set in stone, as I'm sure I have to have it approved by the minister, but I'd like to have traditional vows along with the stuff below.

Engagement Ring Vows

"The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Please place your engagement ring on *Brides's Name* finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage."

Ring Box

Here's the box I bought at Hallmark to hold the rings.  It's actually a candle holder! :)  The quote wraps all the way around.

Hand Ceremony

In the hand ceremony, the officiant invites the bride and groom to view the hands of the other as a gift.

As an expression that your hearts are joined together in love - will you please face each other and hold hands, so you may feel the gift that you are to one another. These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

Blessing after: “Our prayer for you today is that both of you will use these hands to build a marriage where all your dreams come true.”

Reading

The groom's sister is going to read the lyrics to the hymn, "When Love is Found."

WHEN LOVE IS FOUND by Wren

When love is found and hope comes home,
Sing and be glad that two are one,
When love explodes and fills the sky,
Praise God and share Our Maker's joy.

When love has flowered in trust and care,
Build both each day, that love may dare,
To reach beyond home's warmth and light
To serve and strive for truth and right.

When love is tried as loved ones change,
Hold still to hope though all seems strange,
'Til ease returns and hope grows wise,
Through list'ning ears and opened eyes.

When love is torn and trust betrayed,
Pray strength to love 'til torments fade,
'Til lovers keep no score of wrong,
But hear through pain love's Easter song.

Praise God for love, praise God for life,
In age or youth, in calm or strife.
Lift up your hearts! Let love be fed,
Through death and life in broken bread

Ceremony Decor

I'm gonna do this with...

...these.

They'll be attached to pew bows and the tulle with drape b/w them like in the picture.

If the church lets me this will be on the altar and then on the B & G table at the reception.

Here's the flower bakset that the bridemaids are going to carry.

I bought it at Wal-Mart.

And here is the aisle runner I just finished.  Cost about $35.  I bought the one with the swirly fabric at Michaels.

It's awesome b/c the swirls show through the paint.
