Hey, you know what's awesome? The freedom of speech and assembly! Help protect this right by being a legal observer with the NYC-National Lawyers Guild. Come to our training Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. in VH 204, and then you'll be able to serve as a legal observer at protests, demonstrations, and Critical Mass rallies in New York and elsewhere, working with the Mass Defense Committee of the NYC-NLG. There's no time commitment, since you sign up to observe at protests when it fits your schedule. So, even if you're not totally sure you can take on another commitment, you should come to the training anyway just in case. At any rate, there'll be dinner and drinks served, and you'll get to hear from experienced legal observers and learn about NYC police tactics at protests.
