SPRING PARTY: MARCH 22, 2013 at 2:30pm(except 2nd grade will be at 1:15pm) Room Parent Meeting will be October 4th at 7:30pm in the Cardinal Library!!
General Party Overview
Time
Parties last 45 minutes(2:30-3:15 except 2nd grade starts at 1:15 pm to accomodate specials classes.) Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to prepare for the party. This isn't a lot of time, but we need to be respectful of class work the teacher may be trying to complete. Spend 15 minutes on games, 15 minutes on a craft, and 15 minutes on eating. You can adjust as needed, depending on age level. You may want to play 2 or 3 games then eat. You may want to divide the class, half playing a game and half working on a craft. As always, contact the teacher for final approval.
Donations
The PSG has sign-up sheets from back to school night and will distribute lists of parents willing to donate items and help at the party at the room parent meeting on Thursday October 4th at 7:30pm in the Cardinal Library. If you cannot attend, contact a board member and they will get the sign-up sheet to you.
Attendance
In accordance with corporation guidelines, older and younger siblings may not attend classroom parties. Attached at the bottom is a criminal history check. This must be completed by any parent attending a party or helping in the classroom. All parents must also sign-in at the front office.
Food
All food items must be store bought with a nutrition label attached. Nutritional guideline information is attached to this sight. No homemade food may be given to students.
Allergies
Room parents are responsible for contacting the school nurse for any allergies a student may have in your assigned classroom! A list of allergies will be given out at the room parent meeting to all who attend.
Crafts and Games
Keep crafts and games simple. Fragile or excessively "gluey" things are not a good idea. Several great ideas can be found on the internet. Search under school party games and crafts, and you will find some great ideas.
