             Night Outreach to the Homeless

Who are they?
 
Night Outreach to the Homeless promotes campus awareness of issues connected with homelessness, and engages in service in downtown Palo Alto and San Francisco's Tenderloin District. They host speakers, put on events, run clothing drives, and volunteer at facilities that cater to the homeless population. They also go out every week to talk with the homeless, and provide sandwiches and basic necessities.

Night Outreach to the Homeless needs volunteers to:
  • Tutor previously homeless kids and teens at the Opportunity Center in Palo Alto
    • Mon-Fri 3-6PM kids
    • Mon-Fri 5-6PM teenagers
    • provide homework help and company to the kids and mentorship for the teens
  • Volunteer at the Clothing Closet at the Opportunity Center in Palo Alto
    • Tue, Wed 11-3PM
    • sort clothes and complete other administrative duties like registering clients
  • Volunteer in the Kitchen at the Opportunity Center in Palo Alto
    • Mon-Fri 8-11AM
    • help serve and clean up
  • Outreach at the Opportunity Center
    • Mon-Fri 10-4PM
    • communicate with the clients and if needed express their concerns to the case managers 
  •  Pair with another students to walk once a week and provide food and supplies to the homeless in downtown Palo Alto
    • alternating Fri 8PM and Sat 11AM
  • Attend a weekend retreat to the Ternderlion District in San Francisco
    • once a quarter
  • Help plan the Clothing Drive and Holiday Toy Shop
