What's Up over the next couple of months......
Hi Guys,
Start of term is just around the corner so here's what's coming up over the next couple of months...
The
next couple of weeks beginners trips will be held every Wednesday,
Saturday and Sunday to give all of you new guys a chance to give this a
go before our first weekend away.
For Wednesday trips - meet at 1pm round the back of the union (near the bookshop).
For Saturday and Sunday trips we meet at 11am in the same place.
To sign up for these trips, come to the mackintosh on Thursdays at 8.30pm or if you cant make that then drop me an email or txt. Few things you will need to bring: -packed lunch -clothes to go caving in - non cotton sports type clothing -spare clothes in case you get wet
Don't forget that your first trip with the club is free (usually £5) as it is included in your membership fee.
Also all caving kit is provided free of charge throughout the year.
On a social side, we will be having our first fancy dress social on Thursday 15th October, Caveman theme!!! Don't
forget to come along to the pub next week (8th) to sign your names down
for tickets to where we end up... and more info to follow...
The
first weekend away will also be later than planned, it will probably
move to the weekend of the 23rd - 25th Oct (2 weeks later), not set in
stone yet but will confirm shortly.
After this we will be running a weekend away every 2 weeks...
One of the Final trips of the year will be to CHECC which i believe will be 20th - 22nd November - More details to follow...
This
year we are going to make a more concerted effort with WBCRT especially
if we are going to become an associate club, this includes attending
both working evenings and rescue practices. Will also see if we can
have a rescue practice just for cardiff when everyone becomes settled
in, end of October (ish).
Think that's all for now,
Tom

Hi Guys,
Start of term is just around the corner so here's what's coming up over the next couple of months...
The weekend after the mad rush of freshers week we will be holding relatively small freshers trips due to lack of leaders, after this weekend however things will be far better,
The following weekend (3rd, 4th Oct) as well as Wednesday ( 30th - Sept, 7th - Oct) we will be running full blown freshers trips to get as many people past their first trip as possible before the first weekend away...
This will be held at the Belfry in the Mendips (Somerset) - 9th - 11th October.
then every 2 weeks after this we will have a weekend away somewhere, South Wales, Yorkshire, Derbyshire ect.. locations of these weekends away will be confirmed shortly.
One of the Final trips of the year will be to CHECC which i believe will be 20th - 22nd November - More details to follow...
This year we are going to make a more concerted effort with WBCRT especially if we are going to become an associate club, this includes attending both working evenings and rescue practices. Will also see if we can have a rescue practice just for cardiff when everyone becomes settled in, end of October (ish).
Also need to point out that our facebook group page is far more active, and updated more regularly. To get more up to date information on trips away and social activities please visit...

Seeing as we are all in the thick of exams there will not be regular trips this month, however if there are enough of us who want to go them something can easily be arranged.
I will be running regular trips after 2nd June (my last exam) and ill be around cardiff for the whole of the summer (except August). So for those of you who will still be around then we will have plenty to do.
Also i am organising a weekend / short week trip away between the dates of the 14th - 21st June, I will finalise a date soon when I get an idea of numbers.
Also now might be the time to decide weather you will be coming to Austria in August as you will have to organise transport soon, as well as paying your exped fees which will be needed very soon.
WBCRT working evenings:
(If there's enough of us then we will go up there, i will probably be going up there on 2nd June anyway)
June - Tuesday 2nd - Working Evening July - Wednesday 1st - Training - Navigation August - Tuesday 4th - Working Evening September - Tuesday 1st - Training - Rigging for Cave Rescue October - Tuesday 6th - Working Evening November - Wednesday 4th - Working Evening December - Tuesday 1st - Working Evening
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Guys and Girls,
Day trips are running as usual on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, if you would like to sign up then please get in contact with Mike Young, out meets secretary who organises trips. This weekend (6th - 8th) there wont be any day trips running as we will be up in Yorkshire for the weekend. During the Easter break a few of us will be heading to Mallorca, but if your going to be around over the holiday period then feel free to get in touch and ill see if we can organise the odd trip or two.
Sign up as usual at the End Pub every Thursday at 8.30, of by getting in contact with Mike.
Our resident oldie, Joel is organising a Cave Expedition Training weekend on the 1st - 3rd May at the Wales Indoor Climbing Centre. Its an awesome weekend from which you will lean a hell of a lot of stuff. Its not only open to people going on the Dachstien expedition in the summer, it is for everyone, even if your not planning on going.

Hello guys, As you may be aware there's a new committee in town, and i have the wonderful job being your president for the next year. So a quick overview of what ive got planned for the year then;
On
top of the usual wednesday, satarday, and sunday, we are going up to
Yorkshire for new years, and at the moment we have got the TSG booked
up in Darbyshire for the 6th - 8th February.
I am going to
book a couple of weekends on top of this, perhaps going to whitewalls
again as that is in the Llangatack (dont know how to spell that soz)
caving area with awsome caves such as Aggy, Darren and Craig-A-Ffynnon.
I
will also get us back up to Yorkshire/ Derbyshire next year so we have
got more time using SRT so that those of you who are up for coming out
to the Dachstein will be profficiant enough to make the most of it.
Dates of these weekends will be available soon once ive booked them.
If anyone has any suggestions then get give me a call;
07900 512 002
or email:
tomjlia@msn.com
With
regards to an easter trip, theres a forum on the new site, in which
there are plenty of ideas floating aroun, however we will have to
decide soon where & when ect.. pretty soon as it would be cheaper
if we book in advance.
New committee members, i will give each
of you a call some time today to arrange our first committee meeting,
with some of the previous committee members to answer any queries
regarding their positions.
Im sure you will have plenty more messages like this, but for now ill shut up.
Regards
Tom |

Sorry
for using facebook as a means of getting this out to you, I'l be on
