Sociable Carefree Caravanning

The Sunshine Caravan Club of Queensland was formed in 1973 at a meeting held at a private residence in Mt. Gravatt and conducted its first rally on 14th and 15th April 1973.  The Club’s motto has always been "Sociable Carefree Caravanning" and members have formed friendships and attachments over time.

The Club has been formed on "members" and not "residential location".  Our members reside from Hervey Bay to Ocean Shores, West to Minden and come from diverse social and work experience backgrounds.

The Club generally conducts rallies in South East Queensland however at times we travel to other areas outside South East Queensland.  The Club’s Ranger chooses venues, generally showgounds and other venues can include state forest camping areas and privately owned facilities.

The Club conducts rallies from Wednesday to Monday on the last full weekend of the month (except December) and holds a general meeting each Saturday afternoon of the rally.

The Club operates under a Constitution and By-Laws and limits the number of caravans to forty (40). The limitation assists with acquiring suitable venues and provides a sociable carefree interaction of members.
