Squadron Policies and Procedures
Our squadron will be operated in accordance with the regulations of the Civil Air Patrol. These regulations can be found on the gocivilairpatrol.com website. Specifics about how these regulations are applied in our unit are posted on this page. Attendance CAP is a volunteer organization and as such you are free to come to meetings as often as you like. However you cannot expect to get much out of your CAP experience if you do not attend regularly. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that cadets get a well - rounded exposure to all aspects of the cadet program and to ensure that the squadron gets the benefits of the skills and knowledge of it's members. In order to be promoted, you must have attended at least one of each type of squadron meeting in the 60 days preceding the date of promotion. The first Monday of each month is an Aerospace meeting, the second is Physical Fitness, the third is Character Development, and the fourth is Emergency Services. So this policy means that in the 8 weeks before the date of your promotion, you need to have attended at least 1 Aerospace, 1 Physical Fitness, 1 Character Development, and 1 Emergency Services meeting. Grooming Standards Wear of the CAP uniform must be in accordance with CAP Regulation 39-1 which can be found online. In particular the regulations regarding hair styling and cosmetics must be adhered to. Those parts of the regulation are summarized in the attached grooming.pdf document. While these standards apply whenever you are in uniform, in particular: in order to be promoted, you must be meeting CAP grooming standards as outlined in CAP Regulation 39-1. Physical Fitness Training Uniform The uniform to be worn on Physical Fitness meeting night, the second Monday of each month has been standardized. In addition to the rules about colors and combinations, it is important to remember that the hem on the shorts must be no higher than the lowest knuckle on your hand when standing at the position of attention. The colors and combinations are laid out in the attached document. Chain of Command

Unless there are extraordinary circumstances. You must have your Blues Uniform before your second promotion. All promotions are to be conducted in Blues Uniform, with the exception of your first promotion. If you don't take notes during instruction classes, then you will be told to stand in the back of the room for the duration of the class. This means you MUST, at all times, have notebook paper and a pen or pencil available. If you have a question during the class, stand up and ask your question loud enough so that everyone can hear the question. If you have a problem or an issue in the squadron, use the Chain of Command. First take your issue to your Flight Sergeant, then your Flight Commander, etc. No tie/tab will be allowed for Cadet Basics. |
