DOMINGAS M. TAVARES, 75, of Lyon Street, a native of Cape Verde, died yesterday at home.

Born in Brava, the Cape Verde Islands, a daughter of the late Tome and Leopoldina (Monteiro) Tavares, she came to this country 11 years ago and settled in Pawtucket. Ms. Tavares was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

She leaves two sons, Octavio Barbosa of West Warwick and Gabriel Barbosa of Pawtucket; two daughters, Fernanda Venacio in Portugal and Maria H. Barbosa of Pawtucket; three sisters, Ernestina, Eugenia J. and Maria M. Tavares, all of the Cape Verde Islands; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 7:30 a.m. from the Merrick R. Williams Funeral Home, 530 Smithfield Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, High Street. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
