At a service at Dolan Funeral Home in Dorchester, family and friends recalled how “Xanda” Gomes doted on her 17-month-old daughter, Niylah. Afterward, mourners gathered in the rain at Cavalry Cemetery for her burial, after which they released balloons symbolizing her spirt’s flight to heaven. Yesterday, police arrested Daniel Harris, 23, of Boston in connection with Gomes’ murder. “This arrest brings us one step closer to justice for a young mother taken from those who loved and needed her most,” Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said. ![]() Photo by Mike Adaskaveg TEARS: Mourners released balloons at the funeral of Alexandra Gomes to represent her flight to heaven. |
