Pals say Orlando Barbosa Vicente, 60, has not been able to eat or sleep since two-year-old Yanire Izaga died on Tuesday. The shop worker from Cape Verde, off West Africa, is now preparing to come to London to see his daughter Ligia, 35 — who is under sedation in hospital and said to be “broken”. A family friend said: “He is going out of his mind with worry. He cannot eat or sleep. “He was so looking forward to Ligia visiting him with little Yanire. Now he has to make the saddest journey of his life.” Ligia’s husband Alberto, 36, has been sectioned and is under suicide watch. It is alleged the insurance executive killed Yanire at the family’s flat on London’s Embankment. His wife’s American mum is at her bedside. |
